NYC in 1 Day 10-4-08

We took Nathan to walk the Brooklyn Bridge, but he was in town for one more day. What do you do if you are in NYC for one day only? Nathan wasn't interested in the typical tourist attractions (i.e. Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, etc.). We enlisted the help of Martin's Uncle Greg to play tour guide. First, to Wall Street. We saw the New York Stock Exchange. Unfortunately, it was Saturday so the actual building was closed and there were no picketers with mean signs. Oh well. Next, to the South Seaport TKTS Booth to buy Broadway tickets. Then a walk through Chinatown and lunch in Little Italy. After lunch we went to a tasty Italian bakery for treats. Although we were all stuff from a large lunch, Micah, Nathan, and Greg all ate their pastries right then. I guess it tasted as good as it looked. My tasty pastries were forgotten and left behind so I didn't get to try mine. Our next stop: Rockafeller Center. On the way we made a pit stop at "Young Designer's Market" where Nathan bought a hat and the lady attempted to swindle Micah into buying one as well. It was so interesting to see so many vendors all crammed into one small space. They also think highly of their own designs because everything was outrageously expensive (in my opinion). We were sidetracked again when we stumbled across the Nintendo store. They had dozens of game consoles set up to play on, as well as a small history of Nintendo's systems. Frankly, the best part was the gift shop. They had some of the t-shirt designs I've seen. Of course, it makes sense for Nintendo to save their best designs for their own store. Finally we got to Rockafeller Center and basically said hello and walked by. (The ice rink opens the day we leave - October 11th.) We marched up 5th Avenue past Saks and St. Patrick's Cathedral. We then went to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Uncle Greg is a member there, so we were able to get in without charge. Micah and I weren't thrilled with the exhibits, but apparently we were just on the wrong floors. It turns out the best pieces are on the top two floors. We were silly enough to start at the entrance and work our way up. By the time we reached the best art we were being ushered out of the museum because they were closing. After a tour of the MoMA, we stopped at the Little Pie Company for a quick bite to eat and then to Broadway. We saw "The Phantom of the Opera." The sets were amazing!!! Micah and I were both disappointed with the vocals, but it was definitely worth seeing for the stage experience. When we left the theater a large group was gathering out on the street. Several police officers were there ushering the crowd out of the streets. Apparently it was the debut of "Equus" on Broadway and Daniel Radcliffe was still playing a key role. Harry Potter fans still live on! We stood there for 6 or 7 minutes and got this fantastically blurry shot of his exit door. We then decided food was more important than a celebrity siting, so we moved on. We looked through a couple stores on Times Square and finally ate dinner at the Planet Hollywood there. It was way fun looking at the celebrity memorabilia throughout the store. After a few more stops in shops around the square we headed home. The next morning Nathan toured The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History before heading to the airport. Not a bad 70 hour trip to the Big Apple.

I loved seeing all the stuff at planet hollywood!

Okay so you said you wanted to know my secret for getting preggie in one month. Beware because this could is going to get REALLY graphic.

So first thing you do is go online and find out the dates for your ovulation. It should be a range of about 10 days. Then it should also tell you your most fertile days. So here's what you do:
You make love every other day, but make sure you do it on your most fertile day for sure! And early in the morning that day.
Morning is best because that is when Micah would have the largest sperm count. But we did it mostly in the evening b/c morning didn't work with our schedule every day. Anyway so whenever you do make sure you are on your back with a pillow or two under your bottom when he, you know what's, inside of you. So then you lay there elevated like that for at least 20 minutes, sometimes I even laid there for 45. Just depends on how much time you have.
For conceiving a girl you are more likely if you do not have an orgasm, for a boy you are more likely if you do have one.

I know its graphic, sorry. But I read all of those things online on websites that were for people having trouble and haven't gone to a fertility doctor yet. So I figured if I did all that when we were first trying it'd work for sure! But of course I can't guarentee your results, I just feel really good about all the stuff we did and feel like it worked for us...oh and it helps if Heavenly Father is on your side too! :-)
